[Debian]:ftp - PAM-Problem

Hallo

ich habe ein kleines Problem mit pam/ftpd
(ftpd aus potato net/ftpd_0.11-5.deb)

Irgendwie scheint die authentifizierung mit PAM
nicht zu funktionieren

beim aufruf von ftp erhalte ich:

$ ftp lady

Die Logdatei schaut wie folgt aus

[bernhard]

/etc/ftpchroot ist leer

Ich habe schon so ziemlich alles probiert und nun überhaupt keine
Ahnung mehr was ich machen soll.
