[Debian]: Gimp will nicht !?

Hallo :)

Ich habe hier die debian 1.3.1 von jfl (Dez. 1997) ... leider bekomme ich 
Gimp nicht funktionsfaehig installiert ... d.h. wenn ich es starte erscheint
folgende fehlermeldung :

bash-2.00$ gimp test.gif
shmget failed: Function not implemented
gimp fatal error: shmget failed!
gimp: killing: 218: /usr/lib/gimp/plug-ins/gif
bash-2.00$  

Ich habe aber auch die Plugins installiert wie man sieht :

bingo# dpkg -l | grep gimp
rc  gimp-dmotif     0.54.1-6       GIMP (General Image Manipulation Program), d
