Technische Informationen über die Boot-Disketten
Source-Code
Das Paket "boot-floppies" enthaelt den vollständigen Source-Code für
die Installationsdisketten.
Die Rescue-Diskette
Die Rescue-Diskette enthält ein MS-DOS-Dateisystem, so daß man von
einem DOS- oder Windows-System darauf zugreifen kann, oder von einem
sonstigen System, das DOS-Disketten mounten kann. Der Linux-Kernel
befindet sich in der Datei "linux". Die Datei root.bin ist ein mit gzip
komprimiertes Disketten-Image eines 1.44-MB-Minix-Dateisystems, das in
die RAM-Disk geladen und als Root-Dateisystem verwendet wird.
Ersetzen des Kernels
Sollte es nötig sein, den Kernel auf der Rescue-Diskette zu ersetzen,
müssen Sie Ihren Kernel mit folgenden Features übersetzen (nicht als
Module!):
* Initial RAM disk (initrd) support.
* msdos-, minix- und ext2-Dateisysteme.
* Kernel support for ELF binaries.
Kopieren Sie den neuen Kernel in die Datei "linux" auf der
Rescue-Diskette und führen Sie das Shell-Skript "rdev.sh" aus, daß sich
auf der Diskette befindet.
Die Base-Disketten
Die Base-Disketten enthalten jeweils einen 512-Byte-Header, gefolgt von
einem Teil eines mit gzip komprimierten "tar"-Archiv. Wenn Sie die
Header abschneiden und dann die einzelnen Teile aneinanderhängen,
sollten Sie das komprimierte "tar"-Archiv erhalten. Dieses Archiv
enthält das Basis-System, welches auf Ihre Hard-Disk installiert wird.
Sobald dieses Archiv installiert ist, müssen Sie den Menüpunkt
"Configure the Base System" sowie die anderen Menüpunkte zur
Konfugration des Netzwerks und zur Installation des
Betriebssystem-Kernels sowie der Modules im Installationssystem
aufrufen, damit das System verwendbar wird.
