Well, the Xpert 98 is not the fastest card in the world; until the
Radeon, ATI cards tended to be a bit limited in 3D stuff. But the driver
isn't the fastest in the world, either; you *may* be able to edit
/etc/glx.conf and enable the experimental 'direct rendering' (not the
same as DRI which you may have heard of) and see if that helps.
Like I wrote to you before, I could get ~18fps out of Quake I with an
Xpert 98 PCI and a P100 CPU. The "sproingies" screensaver went pretty
quick, though not blazingly fast.
In short, it won't be a speed demon, and don't even dare try UT or
QIII, but you should be able to get some GL joy out of it.
