I agree.  Each port should have their own "branch" off of bigger packages
like gcc and glibc.  This would allow the people most familiar with those
archs (and with the best access to them) to look into and deal with the
problems that arise.

I know that the Alpha folks should be commenting more on ICEs (me
included), so I'll see if I can start digging up the info that I started
working on (including a submission page for such problems).
