Bug#581960: tex4ht: wrong charset in htlatex output

Am 17.05.2010 um 13:54 teilte jsbien@mimuw.edu.pl mit:

Dear Janusz,

Yes, we have long response times. Sorry for this!

Package: tex4ht
Version: 20090611-1+b2
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/htlatex

Please have a look at the attached example.

This is a regression, it work correctly several years ago...

I got a response from upstream. They said:

Yes, the encoding should be "utf-8" as he requires "uni-html4" option. Note that this happens only with old scripts like htlatex, as make4ht uses utf-8 by default.

Anyway, I've updated the sources to better support the `uni-html4` option. The other option, that worked always is to use the "charset=utf-8" option:

------
htlatex minimal_example_squeeze.tex "xhtml,charset=utf-8" " -utf8 -cunihtf"
<snip>

Upstream anyway recommends to use make4ht, like this: make4ht -u minimal_example_squeeze.tex

Does that solve your issue?
