It passes when run with only packages from testing. In tabular form: pass fail texlive-base from testing 2018.20190122-1 fig2dev from testing 1:3.2.7a-3 all others from testing from testing I copied some of the output at the bottom of this report. Currently this regression is blocking the migration of texlive-base to testing [1]. Due to the nature of this issue, I filed this bug report against both packages. Can you please investigate the situation and reassign the bug to the right package? If needed, please change the bug's severity. According to https://sourceforge.net/p/pgf/bugs/508/ and https://bugs.debian.org/920368 pgf requires the use of etex (at least with the new texlive version). The recently uploaded version 1:3.2.7a-4 of fig2dev fixes this by changing the testsuite to use etex instead of tex for this test, which already passed the ci test for unstable.
