Bug#905880: tex-gyre: contains X11 fonts but does not run update-fonts-* in postinst nor dep on xfonts-utils

Hi Paul,

Interesting.

Fonts did show up.

> Do you maybe have the gyre fonts installed elsewhere on your system?

Well, in my home texlive installation in ~/tl/2018/texmf-dist/...
but this is not searched by fontconfig or anything else.

> find /usr/share/fonts/X11/ -name fonts.dir -print0 | xargs -0 grep -i gyre

Yes, all the fonts
[~] find /usr/share/fonts/X11/ -name fonts.dir -print0 | xargs -0 grep -i gyre
/usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/fonts.dir:qagb.pfb -unregistered-texgyreadventor-bold-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-1
/usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/fonts.dir:qagb.pfb -unregistered-texgyreadventor-bold-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-15
...

Ok, after several iterations of this the fonts stopped to show up ;-)

Fixed package uploaded.

Hmm, you mean the links from the fonts/X11 dir to the texmf tree?
I am considering this, but first fix the other bugs, and then let a new
package rot in the NEW queue for some time ;-)

I removed the defoma stuff and rewrote the .scale and .links generation
code directly in the rules file without sed.

Hope it works now, at least here it did.

Thanks for your suggestions

Norbert
