Bug#859118: texlive-base: does not handle colon-delimited BROWSER environment variable
Package: texlive-base
Version: 2016.20170123-5
Severity: normal
My BROWSER environment variable is set to firefox:links:links2:lynx
(as explained in the man(1) documentation). I don't have any of the
other environment variables listed on line 199 of
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/texdoc/config.tlu set. I then
get:
erdos:~ $ texdoc komascript
sh: 1: firefox:links:links2:lynx: not found
because texdoc is trying to use "firefox:links:links2:lynx" as the
command name of the browser. Oops!
I could fix this by setting a BROWSER_texdoc environment variable, but
it would be nicer to handle the Debian (at least) syntax for BROWSER
in texdoc itself.
Best wishes,
Julian
