We are dealing only with TeX Live upstream, and there they take whatever
is on CTAN. That means, if you want this fixed, please contact
the original author of the animate package with a minimal example and
ask him to upload a fixed version to CTAN. Then it will also appear
in TeX Live and in the next upload to Debian.

In addition, please send a minimal example here.
