Bug#750496: texlive-xetex crashes install

(Norbert)

my apologies on my last reply.  I am grateful for your assistance and also somewhat frustrated.  M y apologies if that shows a bit as it's not directed at you & I think we both just want things to work.  It's also a bit confusing in that it's stating that dpkg returned 1 (an error) and looks like it's failing when dpkg tries to --configure the package.  but hey I'm fallible, human, and know less than I'd like about how debian packaging works so I defer to you.  Here's the command, run as root in a single line and the output:

It is the xetex binary that is crashing here, nothing else.

As a consequence the  configuration doe snot succeed.

Yes, I know. I did not say *you* killed ith with "kill -9 .." or
whatever. Something kille dit.

I asked you to run the code line I sent you.

Can you please do this, *as*root*!!!! And send the full output.

I am using a text only mail program, all red and udnerline is not
visible to me, and completely irrelevant.

No. Wrong. Apt is *NOT* crashing. apt-get is telling you
that the configuration of texlive-xetex did not succeed. It is
doing what it is supposed to do.

It is the xetex binary that starts the problem.

Once again, please *answer* my questions, otherwsie we cannot
proceed in this bug report, I am not willing to handle your
irritation if you do no cooperate:

And again, please run *as*root* the following command line and send
me the *complete* output:

   xetex -ini   -jobname=xelatex -progname=xelatex -etex xelatex.ini
