Bug#709253: texlive-lang-english: symbols-a4.pdf and symbols-letter.pdf contain many PDF errors

Package: texlive-lang-english
Version: 2013.20130520-1
Severity: normal

(I haven't installed the package due to serious bugs; this is from
the .deb extraction, but to read a PDF file, this is OK.)

The /usr/share/doc/texlive-doc/latex/comprehensive/symbols-*.pdf files
contain many PDF errors, e.g.

$ xpdf symbols-a4.pdf 24
Error: Could not parse ligature component "closedequal" of "closedequal_uni0338" in parseCharName
Error: Could not parse ligature component "equalclosed" of "equalclosed_uni0338" in parseCharName
Error: Could not parse ligature component "equivclosed" of "equivclosed_uni0338" in parseCharName

$ xpdf symbols-letter.pdf 26
Error: Could not parse ligature component "closedequal" of "closedequal_uni0338" in parseCharName
Error: Could not parse ligature component "equalclosed" of "equalclosed_uni0338" in parseCharName
Error: Could not parse ligature component "equivclosed" of "equivclosed_uni0338" in parseCharName

and I get the same errors with "evince".

Note: This is not a regression. texlive-doc-en 2012.20120611-1 had
the same problem.
