Bug#678972: texlive-full: Old format files not deleted

Package: texlive-full
Version: 2012.20120611-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

this is a bug collection. I recently performed an upgrade of texlive-full
from Debian squeeze to Debian unstable. After the upgrade I called
"fmtutil-sys --all" and noticed that some format files were not recreated:

root@debian-migrat2:~# find /var/lib/texmf/web2c/ -type f -mtime +2
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/pdftex/physe.log
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/pdftex/phyzzx.log
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/pdftex/physe.fmt
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/pdftex/phyzzx.fmt
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/metapost/mfplain.log
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/metapost/mplib-luatex.mem
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/metapost/mfplain.mem
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/metapost/metafun.mem
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/metapost/mpost.mem
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/metapost/metafun.log
/var/lib/texmf/web2c/metapost/mpost.log

Indeed none of the files below /etc/texmf/fmt.d references these files,
which was still the case in Debian squeeze. Hence I guess they are surplus
and not needed any more. We should remove them upon upgrade.

stable:

lenny:/etc/texmf/fmt.d# grep phy *|grep -v \#
10texlive-formats-extra.cnf:physe pdftex - physe.ini
10texlive-formats-extra.cnf:phyzzx pdftex - physe.ini
lenny:/etc/texmf/fmt.d# grep meta *|grep -v \#
20context.cnf:metafun mpost - metafun.mp
lenny:/etc/texmf/fmt.d# grep mpo *|grep -v \#
10texlive-metapost.cnf:mfplain mpost - mfplain.ini
10texlive-metapost.cnf:mpost mpost - mpost.mp
20context.cnf:metafun mpost - metafun.mp

sid:

root@debian-migrat2:/etc/texmf/fmt.d# grep phy *|grep -v \#
root@debian-migrat2:/etc/texmf/fmt.d# grep meta *|grep -v \#
root@debian-migrat2:/etc/texmf/fmt.d# grep mpo *|grep -v \#

Not sure about the /var/lib/texmf/web2c/metapost/mplib-luatex.mem. It is
just a copy of /var/lib/texmf/web2c/metapost/mpost.mem .
