Package: texlive-extra-utils Version: 2011.20120424-1 Severity: important Hello, I've recently upgraded texlive-* packages, after removing package pdfjam. Unfortunately, I seem to have found out a regression in pdfjam (version 2.08, now included in package texlive-extra-utils). I am attaching a minimal testcase that reproduces the issue for me. Steps to reproduce the bug: $ tar xzf minimal_testcase.tar.gz $ cd minimal_testcase $ ls Makefile onefig.svg otherfig.pdf test_pdfjam.tex onefig.pdf otherfig.agr test_pdfjam.pdf $ make pdfnup --suffix 1x1 --nup 1x1 --paper a4paper --noautoscale false --landscape test_pdfjam.pdf ---- pdfjam: This is pdfjam version 2.08. pdfjam: Reading any site-wide or user-specific defaults... (none found) pdfjam: Effective call for this run of pdfjam: /usr/bin/pdfjam --suffix nup --nup '2x1' --landscape --suffix 1x1 --nup '1x1' --paper a4paper --noautoscale 'false' --landscape -- test_pdfjam.pdf - pdfjam: Calling pdflatex... pdfjam: FAILED. The call to 'pdflatex' resulted in an error. If '--no-tidy' was used, you can examine the log file at /var/tmp/pdfjam-LFOc0Q/a.log to try to diagnose the problem. pdfjam ERROR: Output file not written make: *** [test_pdfjam-1x1.pdf] Error 70 I obtain this error message and no test_pdfjam-1x1.pdf file. Please note that, with the more complicated presentation file I was actually working on, I obtained errors from a good number of pdfjam related tools (pdfnup, pdfjam-slides3up, pdfpun, ...). Please also note that the more complicated presentation file caused no errors with pdfjam from package pdfjam/2.05-2 . In other words, this seems to be a regression, hence the severity of the bug report. It is worth noticing that, if you want to regenerate the PDF files included in the gzipped tar archive, you can do so from the correspoding source files: $ rm *.pdf $ make but you will need the following packages: # aptitude install grace inkscape \ texlive-font-utils texlive-latex-base Finally, please note that I experience this issue with some files only. The attached example seems to be a minimal testcase that reproduces the problem. I cannot understand what's going on. I hope you are able to pinpoint the problem and fix it.
