Didn't that happen automatically? DO you still ahve the
terminal log?

Before the formats are build there should be calls to
	mktexlsr
		"Running mktexlsr, this may take some time, please wait ..."
and
	mtxrun
		"Running mtxrun, ...

Did you see that??
