Hi again,I just checked myself by rebuilding the packages from GIT (the upstream tags have not yet been pushed!).
The new math fonts are only available in OpenType format, so there is no name space clash with the Type 1 fonts.
However, I have found dangling symlinks in /etc/fonts/conf.d in the fonts-texgyre package (yay for dynamically generated links!).
Everything else looks fine! - Fabian
