Bug#672876: ..has the fix caused another problem?
Hi,
While installing the 'texlive' package in a couple of (otherwise
identical) virtual machines today (27 May 2012) I found that the second
of those installations failed where the first one succeeded. My OS:
debian-testing-amd64, also newly installed. There were only a few hours
between the respective installations.
The error is again in updmap, which fills the /tmp directory with
identical error messages:
Can't locate TeXLive/TLUtils.pm in @INC (@INC contains: //tlpkg
/etc/perl .... .) at /usr/bin/updmap line 21...
And, indeed, the /usr/share/texlive/tlpkg/TeXLive/ directory is empty,
whereas in the earlier installation there are a bunch of utilities that
include the missing one in the error message.
It would be quite a coincidence if your fix did hit the testing (Wheezy)
repositories after the first, but before my second installation. I
couldn't believe it either, so I scrapped that second VM and installed
it and texlive anew -- same result. If is looks like a duck, if it
sounds like a duck, and if it waggles like a duck... then it most likely
is a duck, no?
