First problem, maybe someone has an idea: texmf.cnf is NOT found!!!

warning: kpathsea: configuration file texmf.cnf not found in these directories: /nonesuch.


$ kpsewhich -show-path texmf.cnf
/nonesuch


it seems that the search path for the inital texmf.cnf is not set up
in any proper way.

I thought that is set in 
	paths.h
but it needs to be fixed ... grrr.
