thanks for finally fixing this bug!  I just can't hold of a remark
regarding Build-Deps, and from reminding you that for this bug:

Your changelog entry isn't really appropriate:

since it wasn't a request for a new upstream version.  The recommended
wording would be something similar to 

* New upstream release.  This also includes documentation sources with
  improved LaTeX code (closes: #380247).

$ grep Depends debian/control 
Build-Depends: debhelper (>= 5), texlive-base, texlive-latex-recommended, texlive-fonts-recommended, gs-common, autoconf
Depends: ${shlibs:Depends}, ${misc:Depends}

You can drop texlive-base, since tl-latex-recommended (indirectly)
depends on it anyway.  The only functionality that texlive-base provides
on its own is for plain TeX (no LaTeX).
