Ooops, I missed that subtlety :-)
Perhaps it would look better if the message was changed to be slightly
more visibly different? Something like:
Building tex-based formats --byhyphen $(kpsewhich language.def).
Building latex-based formats --byhyphen $(kpsewhich language.def).
Also, there's the UTF-8 encoding in Frank's name.
