Indeed, there is (still, sigh) a problem. But I'm not sure that it's still the same. > First I saw this bug while trying to build SystemTap Tapset Reference > for systemtap package, but I can also reproduce it with > http://www.tldp.org/authors/template/Sample-HOWTO.xml (after processing > with xsltproc), with both xmltex and pdfxmltex. The difference to earlier "incarnations" of the problem is that back then, pdfxmltex worked, while now both fail. What a progress... > It is on amd64. However, either hardlz anyone is using xmltex - otherwise the problem wouldn't have rotten in the BTS for 6 years. Or it actually occurs only in special circumstances. Anyway, I tried to reduce the Sample xml source until the error dissappears, but it doesn't. It doesn't seem to have any connections to actually using itemize: $ cat mini.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <!DOCTYPE article PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.2//EN" "http://docbook.org/xml/4.2/docbookx.dtd" []> <article> <articleinfo> <title>Title</title> </articleinfo> </article> $ xsltproc -o fo.xml /usr/share/sgml/docbook/stylesheet/xsl/nwalsh/fo/docbook.xsl mini.xml Making portrait pages on A4 paper (210mmx297mm) Read /usr/share/doc/docbook-xsl/README.Debian.gz section 5(a). $ xmltex fo.xml This is pdfTeXk, Version 3.141592-1.40.3 (Web2C 7.5.6) %&-line parsing enabled. entering extended mode (./fo.xml LaTeX2e <2005/12/01> Babel <v3.8h> and hyphenation patterns for english, usenglishmax, dumylang, noh yphenation, arabic, farsi, croatian, ukrainian, russian, bulgarian, czech, slov ak, danish, dutch, finnish, basque, french, german, ngerman, ibycus, greek, mon ogreek, ancientgreek, hungarian, italian, latin, mongolian, norsk, icelandic, i nterlingua, turkish, coptic, romanian, welsh, serbian, slovenian, estonian, esp eranto, uppersorbian, indonesian, polish, portuguese, spanish, catalan, galicia n, swedish, ukenglish, loaded. xmltex version: 2002/06/25 v1.9 (Exp): (/usr/share/texmf/tex/xmltex/config/xmltex.cfg) No File: fo.cfg (/usr/share/texmf/tex/xmltex/passivetex/fotex.xmt) (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/base/article.cls Document Class: article 2005/09/16 v1.4f Standard LaTeX document class (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/base/size10.clo)) (/usr/share/texmf/tex/xmltex/passivetex/fotex.sty ) (./fo.aux) (/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/tipa/t3ptm.fd) (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/cyrillic/t2acmr.fd) (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/base/ts1cmr.fd) (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/psnfss/t1ptm.fd) (./fo.out) (./fo.out) Package hyperref Warning: Rerun to get /PageLabels entry.
