Ok, the problem is that fontspec defaults to latin modern and the
respective lm font definition files have not been included in TL2007.

You can fix that for now with:

> \documentclass{article}
> \usepackage{fontspec}

	\usepackage[cm-default]{fontspec}

or wait for TL2008 to hit Debian. For lenny that is too late.
