I read it now on release - AFAICS the fact that the API breaks is not
mentioned, only the ABI-breakage which required the soname bump (or am I
completely wrong?)

Anyway, I don't blame you; I wouldn't want to maintain poppler even if
there were no libpoppler.so. Many thanks for your work.
