Hey,
sorry for the long delay. Wasn't at my computer for more than
two weeks, and after that my inbox was so full that I went into
denial mode and refused to look into it. :-}

Yes. But that was quite a while ago -- the code starts to
look foreign to me.

Yes, some address got canceled. Have yet to submit updates. When I
wanted to do that last time, hyperref didn't want to cooperate, so
I scheduled that for later. :-) (Yes, I'm just one person.)

Hmm, I would have thought that "\ " should work. At the moment I'm
more inclined to add a note in the documentation than to try to find
the reason, let alone to fix it. Chances that I break everything are
quite big. This should work: \hl{foo{\ldots} bar}
Maybe a few years ago I could have told you why this doesn't work,
and why it has to be that way. Now I'm almost as clueless as the
next guy. ;-)
It's not that soul isn't supported any more, but it's definitely
in "stable", frozen mode. I'll look into the code in the next days
and if I find out more, then I'll tell you.
Thanks for the report
m.
