Bug#427443: provide a documentation index (like tetex had)
Package: texlive-extra
Version: 2007-3
Severity: normal
If I remember correctly, the docs for tetex included a html summary
file which contained links to the dvi docs for the various packages
included with tetex.
This doc file was registered under doc-base which made it very
convenient to use dhelp and the TeX section to quickly check the
documentation for a particular package.
This convenience appears to have gone in texlive. I can see that
various pdf and dvi files are placed under the various
/usr/share/doc/texlive-* directories, but there's no unified way of
getting to them and no straightforward access from dhelp.
Would it be possible to make appropriate alterations to make texlive
documentation easier to access?
