Yes, an e-mail is good. However, it's probably better to send one
e-mail with Cc to lots of nnn-done@b.d.o addresses and a Version pseudo
header. If we use the deprecated "close nnn version", the submitter
will get no information why it's closed, and we'll get lots of
questions.
