I assume that this is related to the auchtex/preview.sty upgrade, as
there have been absolutely no changes in tetex that could induce this.
Could you test this: Just downgrade to older auctex and see if the
warnings go away?
BTW: Is the generated pdf in any way problematic/different then the
older ones?
