Have you been able to try out with texlive-fonts-extra, and prepare a

Well, that depends on your knowledge and how much time you have, and
whether you can afford to use a machine (or a chroot) for testing. Even
without much knowledge, you could test the packages of texlive 2007 at
deb http://www.tug.org/texlive/Debian/ tl2007/
They basically work, but you should expect some breakage, and we cannot
guarantee smooth upgrade paths as long as they are in experimental.
