Thanks.  A closer inspection shows that the correct md5sums for these
files are already registered.  However, the files are expected in
/etc/texmf/map/dvips/, while they are actually in /etc/texmf/dvips.
This is the correct TDS location if /etc/texmf were a TEXMF tree, but
only for teTeX 2.0.2.

Ah. Then I expect I should move the dvips directory into /etc/texmf/map and re-run the appropriate tools?
