I just did some work on remastering the excellent Ubuntu. See http://wiki.oss-watch.ac.uk/UbuntuDapper/Remaster It would be (relatively) trivial to making a version including a lot of TeX. Its just a matter of deciding what else to throw away. --Sebastian Rahtz
