Yes, this will be fixed in the next upload.

Which frontend do you use?  I guess it's readline; for me, readline
never displays any defaults, and just pressing ENTER never works, or
maybe it works, but it always gives empty values in free-text fields.

Just type "users", or any other group you and the people using TeX are a
member of.
