The directory organization has changed from sarge to etch/sid.
Therefore files in /etc/texmf/dvips are no longer found when looking for
map files, and the wrong bsr-interpolated.map with the duplicate cmex7
entry is no longer found.  This is why the warning disappears.

On the other hand, the files are still there and clutter /etc/texmf,
which is bad.  Why our cleanup code doesn't work - this I don't know
yet.
