Package: tetex-extra
Version:3.0-14

The latex package "doublespace" is missing. It is available in stable
and it was available in testing even a week back. A recent
update/upgrade causes this problem. The error is as expected: when I
compile a tex file which uses doublespace, latex gives out an error
saying doublespace.sty not found.

I am using Debian GNU/Linux testing, kernel 2.6.8-2-386.

This package contains some additional parts of teTeX that some users
might not need. This includes some PostScript fonts from Adobe,
Bitstream, URW etc. It contains fonts like EC, some from the AMS,
and some decorative fonts. Furthermore, there are additional support
files for BibTeX, Omega, PSTricks, pdfTeX, LaTeX etc.
 .
Together with tetex-bin and tetex-base, this will give you a
 complete teTeX installation.

This is expected, as teTeX 3 recently replaced teTeX 2 in testing, and
teTeX 3 doesn't contain doublespace.sty. FYI, the changelog.gz file in
/usr/share/doc/tetex-extra reads:

Sun May 23 22:53:04 CEST 2004
        * remove obsolete files: a4dutch.sty avantgar.sty doublespace.sty
          helvetic.sty isolatin1.sty landscape.sty ncntrsbk.sty sz.sty
          zapfchan.sty

In teTeX 3, there is still setspace.sty, which you can probably use to
achieve the same result.

Regards,
