I don't have the slightets idea, I never used omega. My only uses for tex
on this machine was for translating latex documentation I haven't written.

Hmm... is the version in experimental TDS 1.1? It could be that I
inadvertently installed some experimental packages (by mistake, I
changed the order of some lines in my sources.list and then stopped an
upgrade. This is some time ago, though).
Then this could be some leftover, in which case I need to apologize for
reporting a bug caused by an experimental package :/

Not knowingly, but very likely. I just looked, and in experimental there is
indeed a tetex-bin version 3 something.
Any idea on how to clean this up? I'd try rm -rf /usr/lib/texmf and
reinstall..
