Re: error on tetex-base 3.0.6 install

this remove-no-spam is highly annoying, I must say.  There are other
means to cope with spam than that, and you cause much more work for
people who do a lot already... I had to resend this mail now.

Initially you wrote that the error occured during installation.  Can you
please tell us the exact sequence of commands, starting either from a
system where tetex packages were completely purged, or consistently
testing/unstable?

The settings in texmf.cnf look okay; the rest does not.  In particular,
the second command should give something like 

!!/home/frank/.texmf-config/web2c:!!/home/frank/.texmf-var/web2c:/home/frank/texmf/web2c:!!/usr/local/share/texmf/web2c:!!/var/lib/texmf/web2c:!!/usr/share/texmf/web2c

What is the output of

env | grep TEX

(please do this as root and as ordinary user)
