Nobody objected, nobody shouted "hurray". I think we should do it;
naturally Norbert will be mainly active on tex-common, which is small so
that changes are easy to understand.
Norbert, I think all you need to do is create an account on alioth, and
I'll add you to the group. If you like, you can create a branch of
tex-common for your texlive development versions.
