change to TEXMF in tex-common
HI Frank, hi all!
After pondering various options of getting overrides to work setting
TEXMFSYSCONFIG to different values, I came to the conclusion that it
would be best, that we do NOT fiddle around with TEXMFSYSCONFIG (maybe
later), but change the TEXMF variable:
>From
TEXMF = {!!$TEXMFCONFIG,!!$TEXMFVAR,$TEXMFHOME,!!$TEXMFLOCAL,!!$TEXMFSYSVAR,!!$TEXMFMAIN}
to
TEXMF = {!!$TEXMFLOCAL,!!$TEXMFCONFIG,!!$TEXMFVAR,$TEXMFHOME,!!$TEXMFSYSVAR,!!$TEXMFMAIN}
ie only moving TEXMFLOCAL to the front.
This way we have the option that local admins just put their override files
into /usr/local/share/texmf and be happy.
What do you think about this?
Best wishes
Norbert

BROMPTON
A bromton is that which is said to have been committed when you are
convinced you are about to blow off with a resounding trumpeting noise
in a public place and all that actually slips out is a tiny 'pfpt'.
