I'd think documenting that in texk/web2c/man/tex.man et al
might help. Since these commands have been available like this
forever, please do take precaution and time when removing them.
For example, releasing etch with a 'initex' that gives out
a warning that 'initex is deprecated, use tex -ini instead'
won't hurt.

I guess that would be a fix for whizzytex.
However, is whizzytex the only affected tool?
