Yes, but that shouldn't be done in rules, instead one should either
- export from SVN before doing the upload (as opposed to checkout), or
- copy the updated local copy to the build dir and remove all the .svn
directories manually.
Instead of your patch, I'll copy the check-svn function from tetex-bin's
rules.

Yes, that was my solution - the build will fail if the pdf file has not
been updated in the repository.

It seems I remade the pdf file manually, instead of using the makefile.
