Installation /Configuration Problem with tetex
Hello!
Could you please give me a hint regarding an installation problem?
I am running tetex on debian-sid since a log time.
Last time, I wanted to use LaTeX, the installed version was
3.0-9.xx
On a tex file I have translated with latex a year before without problems, I
got an error message, that
latex.fmt
has the wrong format.
After googeling for that error, I renamed it and tried to create a new file
with dpkg-reconfigure, which failed.
Then I tried to make a complete re-installation and removed the complete latex
stuff first.
Actually, I have this packages installed:
ii tetex-base 3.0-10 Basic library files of teTeX
ii tetex-bin 3.0-10.1 The teTeX binary files
ii tetex-doc 3.0-10 The documentation component of the Debian teTeX
packages
ii tetex-extra 3.0-10 Additional library files of teTeX
But now, I get the message
latex filename.tex
This is pdfeTeX, Version 3.141592-1.21a-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.4)
kpathsea: Running mktexfmt latex.fmt
fmtutil: format `latex' not available.
I can't find the format file `latex.fmt'!
Can you give me any hint how to recreate the latex.fmt file?
Thanks and regards
Matthias
