Should be very easy: just grep Contents-i386.gz. (Such a script can
have strange dependencies like these!) Alternatively, grep the output
of dpkg -L tetex-bin tetex-base tetex-extra libkpathsea4 ... or
whatever.
A possibility might be for those texlive packages such as font
packages which do conflict with tetex-* to be split into two packages,
one which contains only the overlap and one which contains everything
else. Then people can install the extra bits on top of tetex.
