Thanks a lot! I have just updated my sarge system with this (having a
working teTeX 3 in /opt made me brave ;-), and it worked really nicely.

There are only two leftovers (/etc/texmf/etex/etex.ini and
/etc/texmf/pdftex/pdftex.cfgpostinst-bak). There also was a warning
about /var/lib/texmf/dvips not being removed. But that didn't exist
anymore after the installation was finished. Other packages like lmodern
and dvipdfmx seem to work nicely with the new teTeX.

Now I have to get all the packages from my local tree and see if 'real
documents' work, too. Do you mind if this gets metioned on dctt? There
is an appropriate thread at the moment.
