checked for tetex-base 2.0.2c-7:
On line 153 we have the needed code, however it is commented out (and
perhps needs adaption). I guess it was never clear, that we have to
do that. IIRC that code caused some trouble in earlier times and
hence it was commented out, but I'm not sure about this.
