I suppose you mean /usr/share/texmf/doc.

This is a bug that was partially fixed in ivritex 1.0-3 and finally
fixed in version 1.1.1-3, according to its changelog (unfortunately, it
seems the proper place to put TeX documentation in wasn't well
documented in woody's tetex packages).

Noted. I think adding a Conflicts: ivritex (<< 1.1.1-3) would solve the
problem. Since users are supposed to dist-upgrade between major
releases, it shouldn't cause any problem. What do you think?
