Bug#204953: tetex-bin: Same Problem (maybe)
Package: tetex-bin
Version: 2.0.2-22
Followup-For: Bug #204953
I can't quite read the original bug report, but I may have experienced
the same problem. Things broke on a recent upgrade, so I did an
"apt-get remove --purge" to remove all the tetex stuff. I reinstalled
tetex-base okay, but every time I tried to install tetex-bin it would
bomb out like so:
/home/tyson# apt-get install tetex-bin

I tried all sorts of stuff (including creating a /kpathsea symlink to
/usr/bin/kpathsea). Nothing worked until I noticed there was a
libkpathsea3 package. After purging and reinstall it, tetex-bin
installed fine.
Strange that none of this happened on my other box when I did the
update install routine. Maybe there was a wonky libkpathsea3 package
released at one time that permanently damaged its configuration files?
