Bug#272341: tetex-base: Upgrade hangs in "Running updmap"
Hi Rainer,
>> kpsewhich --debug=120 --format='dvips config' dvips35.map >kpse-debug.log 2>&1
This puzzles me. The debug output is nearly equal on your and on my
system. The files are in their places (and the texmf.cnf files are equal
except that I have jadetex conffiles installed).
I currently cannot see the reason for the error. Are the map files in
/usr/share/texmf/dvips/tetex readable? Are they real files, or maybe
stale symlinks?
ls -l /usr/share/texmf/dvips/tetex/*map
If they are stale links, something must have gone wrong during an
upgrade (because they used to be symlinks in fact in earlier
versions). Does purging and reinstalling tetex-base, or "apt-get
--reinstall install tetex-base" help you?
Regards, Frank
