Oh, excuse me. It should have been 

kpsewhich --debug=120 --format='dvips config' dvips35.map > kpse-debug.log 2>&1

(with a ">" before kpse-debug.log). This should create the named file,
which I ask you to send.

Furthermore, the contents of /etc/texmf/texmf.cnf would also be interesting.
