Bug#258256: xlibs-dev as Build-Depend of tetex-bin

Package: tetex-bin
Version: 2.0.2-15
Severity: wishlist

Hi all,

tetex-bin declares a Build-Depend on xlibs-dev. As you all have
noticed xlibs-dev will be in sarge only a dummy package and just
pulls in a huge bunch of other devel-packages. I guess Branden will
remove that package after sarge so this bug will become RC.
On debian-devel^1 and debian-x^2 two people posted shell scripts to
ease the migration away from xlibs-dev. I played a little with them
and got the following result:
xlibs-dev, libxmuu-dev, libxp-dev, libxrandr-dev, libxtrap-dev,
libxtst-dev and pm-dev can be purged without breaking the build of
teTeX 2.0.2 and the latest teTeX beta. All other (necessary) devel
packs will be pulled in by libxaw7-dev (or libxaw6-dev).
So all we have to do is just to drop the B-D on xlibs-dev after
sarge.

H.
