Bug#257022: tetex-extra: error in postinst

While I'm installing tetex-extra, the postinst aborts with the following
message:

Setting up tetex-extra (2.0.2-9) ...
Can't call method "description" on an undefined value at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/Question.pm line 76, <GEN0> line 1.
dpkg: error processing tetex-extra (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 9
Errors were encountered while processing:
 tetex-extra
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)


So I manually run the postinst:

$ sudo sh -x /var/lib/dpkg/info/tetex-extra.postinst configure
(snip)

Again, I ran setup-ucf (I'm not sure this is informative, sorry):
