Might be so but there is a statement as follows in
http://cgm.cs.mcgill.ca/~luc/type42.html

	A Type 42 font is a postscript font that wraps 
	around a TrueType font.

so I have a little hope that dvips could handle it as
normal postscript font yet.  But it might be time to 
forward this to the upstream.
